Government confirms Fonseka handed over letter

The Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga confirmed a short while ago that Chief of Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka has handed over a letter to the President’s office seeking to retire from his post. However Mr. Weeratunga refused to divulge the details of the letter.
